For infected wounds, open wounds, foot punctures, corns, bruised soles, thrush, seedy toe, abscesses, laminitis, sandcracks and thorns.
Hot dressing:
Cut the dressing to size and place in a shallow tray of boiled water which has been allowed to cool to 38°C (100°F). Once it is saturated, remove the dressing and gently squeeze out excess water. Place on the effected area with the plastic backing away from the skin. Hold in place with a bandage.
Cold dressing:
after soaking in boiled water allow the dressing to dry thoroughly. then apply to the affected area . Can also be chilled, kept in the bag in a refrigerator
Dry dressing:
simply apply the dressing directly and bandage.
Ensure the poultice is applied with the plastic backing away from the skin. Wash hands after application of poultice. keep out of reach of children. Store in a dry place. See leaflet in pack for full details. Animalintex should be renewed at least once every 12 hours
Caution:
Animalintex should not be used in conjunction with any medical preparations except on the advice of your surgeon, who should be consulted before the poultice is applied to infected wounds. Ensure that the bandage is not applied too tightly and that the poultice is not too hot.
